What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at The Rath Project?
Now Hiring: Project Manager ( 3–4 Days/Week | Flexible Hours)
The Rath Project is a Fairfield-based interior design studio known for creating bold, livable and personality-filled interiors. We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our small but mighty team — someone who thrives on organization, loves design, and enjoys seeing creative ideas come to life with precision and heart. This is a part-time role (3–4 days per week, flexible hours) with opportunities to grow alongside our firm.
Your Role
You’ll be the connector — the bridge between creative vision and execution. Your job is to keep all the moving parts of our design projects in harmony.
• Oversee day-to-day project operations, schedules, budgets, and communications
• Act as the main liaison between clients, contractors, architects, vendors, and TRP
• Create and manage project timelines, proposals, and purchase orders
• Track invoices, deliveries, and installations with accuracy and grace
• Source, procure, and inspect products for quality control as needed
• Anticipate needs and resolve issues before they arise
• Help prepare client presentations, design boards, and documentation
• Support a culture of collaboration, enthusiasm, and accountability
• Minimum monthly billing requirement: 45 hours per month
You’re a Fit If You...
• Have 3–5 years of project management experience (design, architecture, or creative industry preferred)
• Are client-forward — confident in communication, polished under pressure, and always composed
• Naturally organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple timelines
• Understand how to keep a project moving from concept through completion with clear next steps
• Are tech-comfortable — experienced with Ivy/Houzz, Google Suite, and Canva
• Love being part of a creative, close-knit team that celebrates design and collaboration
• Bring positive energy and initiative — we want someone who lifts the room
Compensation & Perks
We believe in balancing professional growth, personal flexibility, and real-life needs. Our benefits reflect the same care and intentionality that we bring to our design work.
• $35–$50/hour, depending on experience
• 3–4 days per week, flexible scheduling with both remote & required in-office time in Fairfield County for team meetings, client presentations, and project coordination
• Paid time off and studio closure days around major holidays
• QSEHRA health reimbursement: up to $200/month toward individual health insurance premiums or qualifying medical expenses
• $500 annual professional development fund for workshops, certifications, or creative events
• Quarterly “Inspiration Day” — a paid day to explore art, design, or architecture for creative growth
• Paid tickets/admission to award shows and select industry conferences
• Room to advance as the firm expands
