This safety-sensitive position is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional operation of buses along assigned routes, while delivering exceptional customer service to all passengers. What It Takes to Be Successful in This Role:

• Show a strong ability to provide great customer service. Our community is our customer, and we serve them every day!
• Clear communication skills and the ability to manage fare box transactions.
• You must be flexible and available to work during various times to support our customers. This includes weekends, mornings, evenings, and afternoons.
  • Example: you might be scheduled to work from Thursday to Monday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and later have the opportunity to choose a roster pick such as Wednesday to Sunday, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Shift selections are made three times a year based on seniority
• Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements.
• Possess a valid Michigan Driver's license with less than 4 points. Points greater than 4 will automatically disqualify the applicant from consideration.
• Meet and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination requirements including drug and alcohol screening.
• Maintain an excellent driving record.
• Able to interpret and follow run guidelines for assigned routes.
• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
• The ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee and customer safety.
• Able to safely secure mobility devices in accordance with FTA rules for ADA passengers.
