The Ranger Group's Search practice has partnered with a leading HVAC manufacturer in Fort Worth to identify a Product Engineer responsible for owning product design, development, testing, and cross-functional integration activities. This role plays a critical part in advancing the company’s product portfolio and supporting ongoing innovation in HVAC airflow and mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, hands-on design experience, and the ability to lead projects from concept through production while collaborating closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Quality.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Design & DevelopmentLead design engineering activities including concept development, prototyping, analytical studies, and product improvement initiatives.
Own design tasks from initial concept through implementation, ensuring manufacturability, performance, and quality.
Perform and/or review testing of new designs; analyze test data, recommend corrective actions, and support certification efforts (AMCA, UL, etc.).
Project Management & Cross-Functional CollaborationManage engineering projects to optimize results and improve alignment between Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Sales to establish priorities, schedules, and action plans for new and updated products.
Participate in quality reviews, including evaluation and resolution of non-conforming products.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with accountability to predetermined timelines.
Continuous Improvement & Technical SupportImprove existing engineering processes and implement new procedures to increase design efficiency and product reliability.
Provide technical support to internal staff, customers, external consultants, and contractors.
Maintain accurate documentation on design changes, test results, engineering requests, and product specifications.
Required Education & ExperienceB.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
Proficiency with SolidWorks, MS Excel, and MS Word.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience working with electro-mechanical or airflow-related products (preferred).
Core Skills & CompetenciesStrong mechanical and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Skilled in preparing technical reports and communicating engineering concepts clearly.
Effective verbal and written communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to work independently with limited supervision.
Ability to support hands-on testing, prototype assembly, and lab preparation activities as needed.
