THE RANCH is seeking a passionate industry leader & role model who is charismatic, experienced, and self-motivated to join our restaurant as Maitre' D. As a lead member of our front of house team, you would be responsible for handling the logistics of reservations and seating arrangements, greeting our customers and encouraging and engaging the other front of house staff to do the same. We want to deliver a welcoming first impression for every guest that walks through our doors. Our ideal candidate has prior experience in a similar role, is known for their high level of customer service skills, and their ability to handle the logistics of running the restaurant floor with attention!

Responsible for orchestrating a remarkable experience for all guests - from start to finish. It begins with their reservation experience, followed by their in person welcome. Upon entering guests are greeted by name and any special occasions are noted and communicated to servers and management. Through your own high-quality service, other staff have the opportunity to see how to additionally provide gracious service, increase sales, and continue to deliver delicious culinary, wine, and spirit experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are representative of those typically performed. Note: this position may not perform all of these duties and/or may perform similar related tasks not listed here.

  • Make, adjust, and cancel guest reservations.
  • Answering calls before open hours to handle guest reservations and inquiries.
  • Greet all guests, with a warm smile and welcoming posture, educating other front of house staff on how body stance can welcome or hinder guests from entering.
  • Drive the culture of Excessive Hospitality among not only those at the host stand, but throughout the Restaurant- including ensuring the restaurant is pristinely set in preparation for guests to arrive.
  • Foster creativity in planning and arranging for special touches for guests and VIPs.
  • Act as a liaison to VIPs, and out of town guests, acting as their "point-of-contact" for visiting THE RANCH whenever they are in town.
  • Answer customer questions regarding food, drinks, and specials
  • Inspire and educate the front of house staff. Most importantly, show how it's done.
  • Cover the basics: cleanliness, timeliness, and consistency.
  • Be the first line of communication at the front to handle customer complaints or disputes.
  • Manage floorplan to ensure efficient and excellent service throughout a given seating.

Requirements

  • 4 years' experience in a high-end, fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Adaptive organizational skills and the ability to change plans to meet new circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tactfully deliver unwelcome news to guests.
  • Must have knowledge and appreciation for high end food and beverage culture.
  • Highly service trained – effortlessly able show others how to serve in an unpretentious, yet high quality food & beverage environment.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time (Up to 8 Hours).
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with Managers, back of house and other front of house staff.
  • Must be dependable and able to work with a team.
  • Must possess good attitude, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Wine and Spirits Certifications a plus .

Hours: Full availability including Weekends and Holidays
