The Queen’s Health System is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Care Physician to join our growing network of Queen’s Primary Care Health Centers. This position offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care within a collaborative, team-based environment committed to improving the health and well-being of Hawaiʻi’s communities.

As a Primary Care Physician, you will play a pivotal role in promoting wellness, preventing disease, managing acute and chronic conditions, and coordinating care across the healthcare continuum. Physicians are supported by an integrated multidisciplinary team focused on delivering exceptional, high-quality care to every patient.

Position Summary

The Primary Care Physician provides comprehensive healthcare services with a focus on wellness, prevention, and long-term health management. This role requires broad clinical expertise, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Physicians serve as advocates and partners in their patients’ healthcare journeys, coordinating care with specialists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless, high-quality care.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat medical conditions within the scope of primary care practice.
• Provide preventive care, health maintenance services, and patient education.
• Conduct health risk assessments and recommend appropriate screenings and testing.
• Manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions.
• Develop meaningful relationships with patients to support long-term health and wellness.
• Evaluate the urgency of medical concerns and direct patients to the most appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate care with specialists and other healthcare providers.
• Participate in shared decision-making regarding treatment plans and goals of care.
• Supervise medical students and residents during clinical rotations, as applicable.

Team-Based Care & Population Health

• Practice within a collaborative, multidisciplinary care model.
• Support preventive medicine, chronic disease management, transitional care management, and complex care management.
• Utilize innovative approaches to care delivery, including telehealth, telephone visits, and electronic communications.
• Actively engage patients and caregivers in achieving healthcare goals.
• Collaborate with care teams to develop and implement coordinated care plans.
• Participate in team meetings, huddles, and quality improvement initiatives.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, HIPAA regulations, and corporate compliance standards.
• Prepare medical records, reports, and clinical correspondence.
• Provide oversight and guidance to nursing and clinical support staff.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and medical staff activities.

Professional Development & Quality

• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and continuing medical education requirements.
• Adhere to Joint Commission and other applicable accreditation standards.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related primary care specialty.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Hawaiʻi.
• DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain).
• Membership in good standing with The Queen’s Medical Center Medical Staff with appropriate privileges throughout employment.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, team-based care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience practicing in an ambulatory care setting.
• Experience with population health management and value-based care models.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary care teams.

Base salary begins at $278,266/year with opportunity for productivity and quality incentives.
