Role Description
This is a contract 1099 remote Editor role based in Ellicott City, MD. The Editor will oversee the development, refinement, and finalization of written content in alignment with our mission and quality standards. Responsibilities include reviewing and editing manuscripts, providing feedback to the CEO & Founder who will coordinate with authors and other team members, managing content timelines, and ensuring all publications meet high editorial standards. The Editor will also be responsible for maintaining consistency in branding and messaging across all published materials.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in editing, proofreading, and grammar with a strong attention to detail
- Experience in content development and storytelling, with a focus on transformative and educational works
- Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills
- Familiarity with publishing industry standards and knowledge of content distribution processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Adaptability and ability to work collaboratively in a creative team environment
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with authors or within publishing is a plus
