Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Follow recipes and instructions from chefs to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
• Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during catering events or restaurant operations.
• Help with inventory management by checking supplies and reporting any shortages to management. Assist cooks when needed.
• Participate in training sessions on food safety and proper cooking techniques.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for meal preparation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• A team player who can communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
• Experience in catering or working within a dietary aide capacity is a plus but not required.
• Passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques and recipes.
