Role Description The Civil Structural Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Baton Rouge, LA. This role involves performing civil and structural engineering design, including the development of plans, calculations, and specifications for a variety of structures and infrastructure projects. The engineer will conduct structural analysis, review designs for compliance with codes and standards, and collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with other disciplines, supporting project management activities such as scheduling and documentation, and participating in site visits or inspections as needed. The role also includes preparing technical reports, communicating with clients and stakeholders, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply core principles to practical projects.
- Proficiency in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis, including the use of relevant software tools and adherence to applicable codes.
- Experience with Project Management, including planning, coordination, and documentation of engineering activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution; advanced degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe preferred.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and standards, and to perform field assessments when required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and safety considerations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with industry-standard design and analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, or similar) and CAD tools.
