Construction Materials Testing Technician
We are seeking an experienced part-time to full-time Materials Testing Technician to support our Colorado team!
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory and field testing of construction materials, including concrete, soils, asphalt, and other building materials, to verify compliance with project specifications
- Conduct visual inspections and quality assessments on construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and contractual requirements.
- Document test results accurately, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings clearly to the project team and/or contractors in a timely manner.
- Discuss field findings/results with the project team in an efficient and professional manner
- Continue training, obtaining certifications, and recertifying as necessary.
- Strong compliance and adherence to safety.
- Ability to work outdoors on construction sites and with materials testing lab environments
- Ability to evaluate construction documents and specifications
- Ability to coordinate and effectively communicate within a team setting
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Valid driver’s license
· Minimum of 1 year of materials testing experience
- Certified in radiation safety and nuclear density gauge operation
- WAQTC Certification (or equivalent i.e. ICC Soils Inspector)
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Grade 1
Preferred Qualifications/Certifications
- CDOT Basics (Highway Math, Highway Plan Reading, Construction Surveying)
- CDOT TECS and SWMP
- ACI Strength
- CAPA (Levels A, B, C, or I)
- ICC Special Inspector Certifications
- OSHA (10 or 40 hour)
