The QTI Group is partnering with a manufacturer based in the Greater Madison area as they look to add a Test Engineer to their team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting production operations by developing, improving, and maintaining test systems that ensure product quality and operational efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced manufacturing technologies, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact product performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing operations by monitoring, maintaining, and improving test equipment across multiple production areas
- Analyze test failures, troubleshoot equipment and product issues, and perform root cause investigations.
- Train assembly and technical support teams on troubleshooting techniques, testing best practices, and standard operating procedures.
- Implement hardware and software enhancements to improve test efficiency, reliability, and coverage.
- Evaluate and optimize test processes to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and technical teams to develop solutions for manufacturing and testing challenges.
- Develop and maintain calibration, preventive maintenance, and equipment support procedures.
- Assist with pre-production testing, validation activities, and the successful deployment of new equipment and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with control systems, automated equipment, or functional test systems.
- Programming experience with tools such as LabVIEW, Python, C , Visual Basic, or PLC platforms
- Familiarity with PLCs and industrial control systems, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms, is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to train and support cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team setting.
