Bar Manager

We are looking for an experienced, creative, and motivated Bar Manager to join our team at a busy bar and restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-volume bartending and bar management, a passion for craft cocktails, and the leadership skills necessary to maintain exceptional service standards.

This is a hands-on management position that will split time between bartending shifts and floor management shifts. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, develop our craft cocktail program, inspire our staff, and help drive the continued success and profitability of our bar operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft Cocktail Development: Help maintain and grow our craft cocktail program by creating innovative, high-quality drinks that reflect current trends and guest preferences.
• Creative Mixology: Develop original cocktail recipes and experiment with unique flavor combinations, fresh ingredients, house-made syrups, infusions, and mixers.
• Seasonal Cocktail Menus: Design, implement, and maintain seasonal cocktail menus that showcase creativity while maintaining consistency, quality, and profitability.
• Bar Operations: Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficient service, proper opening and closing procedures, and a clean, organized, and well-maintained bar.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage ordering, minimize waste, maintain proper product rotation, and implement controls to reduce costs.
• Staff Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and develop bartenders and bar staff while maintaining accountability and a positive team environment.
• Training and Development: Train staff on cocktail recipes, preparation techniques, product knowledge, responsible alcohol service, customer service, and food safety standards.
• Hands-On Management: Work a combination of bartending and floor management shifts, providing active leadership and support during busy service periods.
• Guest Experience: Maintain exceptional customer service standards, monitor guest feedback, resolve complaints promptly, and identify opportunities to improve the overall guest experience.
• Cost Control and Profitability: Monitor beverage costs, portion control, pricing, and waste while developing strategies to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
• Compliance and Cleanliness: Ensure the bar operates in accordance with applicable health, sanitation, food safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with ownership and management to improve operations, introduce new ideas, and support the overall success of the restaurant.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in bar management and/or restaurant management within the food and beverage industry.
• Strong bartending and mixology skills, preferably in a high-volume bar or restaurant environment.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, training, and developing staff.
• A genuine passion for craft cocktails, creative drink development, and mixology.
• Experience creating cocktails from scratch, including house-made syrups, mixers, and other cocktail components.
• Knowledge of seasonal ingredients, current cocktail trends, spirits, and beverage presentation.
• Ability to manage inventory, control beverage costs, reduce waste, and maximize profitability.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• A strong commitment to customer service and creating an outstanding guest experience.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service practices.
• Flexibility to work a combination of bartending and floor management shifts, including nights and weekends.
