Position: Inpatient Psychiatrist

Location: Bronx, New York

Schedule: Full-Time

A well-regarded hospital is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join its inpatient team in the Bronx, New York. This is a permanent position with opportunities to supervise and teach residents. J1 and H1 visa candidates are welcome to apply.

The role includes leadership responsibilities as a Unit Chief, overseeing a psychiatric unit with support from Nurse Practitioners and residents. Physicians may carry a limited number of direct patient responsibilities and will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, residents, and advanced practice providers. Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide psychiatric care on an inpatient unit

• Serve as Unit Chief, leading a team of NP and 2–3 residents

• Teach and mentor residents in both clinical and academic settings

• Carry a limited number of direct patient cases

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with EMR standards

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Position Requirements:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Psychiatry

• Active New York medical license or eligibility to obtain

• Experience or interest in resident teaching and supervision
