Position Summary

The organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Nocturnist Physician to join its dedicated inpatient medicine team in the Shelton, CT region.

This night-focused role includes overseeing overnight admissions, cross-coverage, rapid evaluations, and maintaining continuity of care during nighttime hours. Physicians work closely with experienced nursing teams, on-call specialists, and structured hospitalist workflows.

Essential Responsibilities

• Handle overnight admissions and cross-cover cases

• Provide rapid assessment and management of acute inpatient issues

• Maintain clinical oversight of all inpatient units during night shifts

• Collaborate with nurses and consult with on-call specialists when required

• Ensure accurate, timely EMR documentation

• Conduct morning handoff to day hospitalist team

• Participate in patient safety, quality initiatives, and team-based care programs

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

• Eligible for Connecticut state medical licensure

• Nocturnist or hospitalist experience preferred; fresh graduates encouraged to apply

• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
