INTERFACES WITH: President, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Shipping & Receiving.
OBJECTIVES: The Inventory Control Analyst leads the operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of our Material Control Team and inventory management systems (ERP). This role is critical to ensure that our systems are fully leveraged to maximize efficiency, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment excellence. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the inventory and will coach team members on the importance of quality and accuracy of work performance, as well as work to ensure superior internal customer service.
The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in Excel and have hands-on ERP experience. You should have a strong understanding of inventory control processes, and a passion for using technology to drive operational success.
The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective inventory control procedures to support efficient material/inventory control and production operations. They are also responsible for processing, monitoring and giving accurate inventory records and operations through data analysis, reporting, and coordination. This role ensures efficient and accurate inventory management by monitoring inventory levels, identifying discrepancies, and supporting process improvements. Collaborates with various departments to ensure the availability of materials and adherence to company inventory policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and analyze inventory transactions and trends to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory records
- Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, movement, and issuance of inventory items
- Release raw materials for production use
- Receive and process unused products
- Store finished goods or products and coordinate outbound shipments with Shipping & Receiving
- Conduct routine audits to verify inventory accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and document findings
- Ensure data integrity in ERP system through timely and accurate inventory data entry and updates.
- Identify, implement, and monitor process improvements leveraging ERP functionalities to enhance workflow and material control productivity.
- Analyze inventory levels and provide reports on items that approach minimum and maximum thresholds.
- Prepare and distribute inventory reports and summaries to stakeholders, including variance analysis and KPIs.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to support inventory put-away, cycle counting, and stock rotation (FIFO).
- Participate in inventory planning, forecasting, and improvement initiatives
- Provide support during physical inventory and cycle counts, including pre- and post-count analysis.
- Maintain documentation for internal and external audits; ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Assist in writing SOPs and documenting inventory processes
- Develop training materials and conduct sessions to educate material control/inventory staff on best practices for system usage and new functionalities.
- Document attendance and conduct performance reviews for team members, coach, train and mentor material control team members in the areas of productivity, quality and safety
- Handle and resolve conflict, process team member requests, engage team members proactively
- Maintain accurate records using inventory management systems
Requirements:
- 5 years of proven inventory control or inventory analysis experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- 5 years experience supervising others, including performance reviews, goal setting, coaching and training.
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Warehouse Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in operating equipment, including scales, wire cutting machines, and counting tools.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical equations (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new inventory software and systems quickly
- Experience with Genius ERP, or similar ERP or MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) required.
- Strong attention to detail, with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Must be a self-starter and possess excellent customer service skills
Training & Education:
- Familiarity with supply chain principles and inventory management best practices.
- APICS or similar inventory/supply chain certification is a plus.
- Experienced with ESD protocols when handling electrical or electronic components.
- Training in Lean Manufacturing is desirable.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment:
This position is often required to use hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Noise level is usually quiet. Must be able to lift or carry up to 30 lbs.
