Job Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all landscaping and snow removal for branch field operations, for Professional Grounds Services. Oversees the use of resources, including labor, equipment and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of all jobs within budget. This position also coordinates use of resources within other divisions and lends support to operational activities for the entire Company. Reports to Operations Director.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of the branch landscaping Professionals. Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with Company policies. Ensures that all staff members are in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all reports are submitted timely and accurately. Assists Operations Director with account budget preparation and assures that accounts remain profitable.
- Participates in regularly scheduled safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, and meetings to determine the effectiveness of safety and accident prevention activities, and to ensure compliance with all applicable safety directives. Investigates employee injuries and follows up with proper reporting to Belfor.
- Oversee and direct management staff, ensuring professional performance is maintained. Perform Corrective disciplinary action and positive reinforcement as needed.
- Promote and exhibit Company culture and values.
- Maintains daily communication with janitorial operations management and assists in resolving issues and customer complaints.
- Other duties as assigned by management
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of educational requirements.
- 5 plus years of progressive landscaping management
- Excellent Organizational, Customer Service and Management skills
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good understanding of budgets and profit & loss statements
- Must have strong computer skills, Excel, Word and Google email
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking and kneeling
- Ability to lift up to 5 to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks
