Freelance Graphic Designer

Description

We are a commercial printing company seeking experienced freelance graphic designers to join our on-call creative roster. Designers on this list will be contacted as needed for periodic design projects supporting our customers’ print, branding, and marketing needs. This role is ideal for reliable freelancers who understand print production and can work efficiently within established brand guidelines and deadlines. 

Types of Projects May Include 

• Brochures, flyers, postcards, and catalogs 
• Direct mail pieces and variable data layouts 
• Business cards, stationery, and corporate collateral 
• Large-format graphics (banners, signage, trade show materials) 
• Promotional product artwork preparation 
• Print-ready file adjustments and prepress support 
• Occasional digital assets 

Responsibilities 

• Design and prepare print-ready files according to provided specifications 
• Follow brand standards, client instructions, and printer production requirements 
• Communicate clearly with our internal team regarding timelines, revisions, and approvals 
• Review files for accuracy, resolution, bleeds, trims, and color setup 
• Make revisions as requested in a timely and professional manner 
• Meet project deadlines, sometimes with quick turnarounds 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• Proven experience in print-focused graphic design 
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) 
• Solid understanding of print production, including:

- CMYK color setup 

- Bleeds, trims, and margins 

- Image resolution and file packaging 

• Ability to follow creative direction while contributing thoughtful design solutions 
• Excellent attention to detail and file organization 
• Strong communication and time-management skills 
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects when needed 

Portfolio Requirements 

Applicants must provide a portfolio showcasing relevant print design work. Production-ready samples or examples of completed printed pieces are strongly preferred. 

Availability & Compensation 

• Project-based, as-needed assignments 
• Flexible scheduling with clearly defined deadlines 
• Freelance rates based on experience and project scope
