Position Overview
The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for driving the efficiency and overall performance of the service shop. This role ensures that workloads are properly organized, technician productivity is optimized, and all work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of all technicians assigned to the workshop.
- Ensure service tasks, repairs, and work orders are completed within expected timeframes, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Allocate labor resources effectively to maintain high levels of productivity across all shop operations.
- Review and approve timesheets, monitor attendance, and ensure accurate reporting for payroll and project tracking.
- Lead technical training and skill development initiatives to strengthen the abilities of the technician team.
- Coordinate with management on workload planning, project updates, and technician assignment needs.
- Maintain and oversee the repair, readiness, and safe operation of all shop-owned tools, equipment, and assets used for on-site and off-site work.
- Track inventory availability, tools, consumables, and materials required to support daily shop activities; escalate shortages when necessary.
- Work closely with health, safety, and quality teams to ensure all records, forms, and documentation are completed accurately and approved as required.
- Interpret drawings, procedures, and technical instructions to provide guidance and oversight throughout the execution of assigned tasks.
- Ensure all required job documentation is completed promptly to support billing and project closeout.
- Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring all team members follow established safety practices and protocols.
- Maintain compliance with internal quality, environmental, and safety management systems.
- Support company initiatives related to maintaining or achieving ISO and industry-recognized certifications.
- Maintain dependable attendance and adhere to scheduled work hours.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support successful shop operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years’ hands-on experience in a technical, field, or operations-focused role within energy, industrial, or heavy-services environments.
- Demonstrated leadership background, typically two to three years, overseeing teams, coordinating field activities, or managing project execution.
- Must hold a current driver’s license and possess a valid passport for travel as needed.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
