What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Sponsorship Representative position at The Press Box Theater?
The Press Box Theater is seeking motivated, outgoing professionals to join our team as Corporate Sponsorship Representatives.
This is a commission-based, field-focused opportunity for individuals who are confident meeting businesses face-to-face, developing relationships, and securing corporate sponsorships.
The immediate priority will be sponsorship outreach for our upcoming 60th anniversary production of Cabaret, running November 27 through December 20, 2026 in Southbury, Connecticut. Successful representatives may have the opportunity to continue working with the theater on future productions, special events, and year-round corporate partnerships.
What You’ll Do
• Visit businesses throughout Connecticut in person to introduce The Press Box Theater and available sponsorship opportunities
• Meet with business owners, executives, managers, marketing professionals, and other decision-makers
• Identify and develop prospective corporate sponsors and community partners
• Present sponsorship packages and explain the benefits of partnering with the theater
• Build and manage your own pipeline of prospective sponsors
• Follow up with prospects and move conversations toward sponsorship commitments
• Coordinate with our Development Associate and theater leadership throughout the process
• Maintain organized records of outreach, follow-ups, and active prospects
This position is primarily built around in-person outreach. Representatives should be comfortable visiting businesses, introducing themselves, starting conversations, and developing relationships face-to-face.

• Familiar with Connecticut businesses and communities
• Able to travel independently throughout the region
Experience in outside sales, sponsorship sales, advertising, fundraising, business development, nonprofit development, media, hospitality, events, or community outreach is a plus.
Existing business relationships or a strong professional network in Connecticut are valuable, but not required.
Compensation
This is a commission-only independent contractor opportunity. There is no base salary or hourly compensation. Representatives earn commission on qualifying sponsorship revenue they personally generate that is secured and collected by The Press Box Theater.
Commission structure, sponsorship materials, available packages, prospect procedures, and additional details will be provided before outreach begins.
