Machine Operator
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will work as part of the small gang to lay, repair, and maintain track to a class 2 standard used in regular railroad service or in industry yards. This work includes operating a backhoe and other track rail maintenance equipment to maintain the right of way.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL with an acceptable driving record is preferred
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Position located in Clinton, Iowa working Monday – Friday with possible emergency call out when needed.
- Able to work in a team environment and possess verbal and written communication skills sufficient to coordinate work and relate track conditions to co-workers, typically via telephone and radio
- Manual labor experience in an outdoor environment required
- Prior railroad experience required
- Able to work in conditions that include loud noise and fumes, work on and around heavy and moving machinery, bend, lift, work, walk, stand and sit in confined spaces for extended periods of time and use hand and power tools
- Follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
