What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Conduit Assembler NCD Electrical Assembly position at The Powell Company?
Position Summary
The purpose of a Conduit Assembler is to install electrical systems in the Power Control Room (PCR) and to ensure the PCR is shipped and delivered on time.
Essential Responsibilities
- Performs standard conduit bends and offsets
- Properly installs conduit & devices (interior & exterior)
- Accurately lays out, modifies, & installs wireway/cable tray per design
- Properly installs lighting, pipe lighting, & fixtures (interior & exterior)
- Demonstrates knowledge of conduit types, sizes, & fittings
- Properly & safely uses & maintains tools (band saw, threader, knockout)
- Reads & uses tape measure/other measuring tools
- Demonstrates ability to work from standard conduit schedule
- Wiring (i.e. anchoring, tie-wrapping, routing, flagging, and wire tagging)
- Crimping
- Wire/Cable stripping
- Adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices
- Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality
- Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Equivalent Certificate
- Successful candidate will typically have a minimum of 1 year of relevant wiring experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have previous conduit experience with both thick and thin wall conduit.
- Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal Must have basic mathematical skills (i.e. fractions, conversions)
Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Must be familiar with common and job specific tools
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Must be able to read and interpret prints (e.g. specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line and part drawings)
- Must be able to perform basic point-to-point wiring
Working & Environmental Conditions
- Lifting up to 40lbs
- Standing on ladder up to 6-8 hours per day
- Sit in a semi-enclosed space to perform work
- Work overhead for extended periods of time
- Adhere to all safety policies and practices
