Duties
- Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate engaging educational activities that promote childhood development and learning in line with curriculum standards
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive environment
- Assist with homework help, tutoring, and skill-building exercises tailored to individual student needs
- Lead recreational activities, including arts and crafts, sports, theater, and outdoor games to encourage creativity and teamwork
- Implement first aid protocols when necessary and respond promptly to minor injuries or emergencies using CPR or AED as needed
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to support each child's growth and address any behavioral or developmental concerns
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation required; willingness to update certifications regularly
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a safe and inclusive environment
- Experience facilitating youth group activities or camp programs is advantageous
- Ability to supervise children outdoors and engage them in physical activities safely
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with children, parents, and team members
