The Opportunity: Equipment Operator
The main objective of this position is to receive extensive training on equipment operation. Learn about and begin operating a variety of machinery and equipment, such as rubber tires, gantry cranes, rail spotter, straddle carriers, cranes, forklifts, and hustler trucks.
What You’ll Do: Responsibilities
- Responsible for following OSHA rules and other safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
- Visually clears any and all obstacles, accounting for blind zones.
- Identifies needs for maintenance or repairs, notifying the Maintenance team as needed.
- Rotates every six weeks as Groundman. Works twist locks on rail cars.
- Manages train arrival times to complete work efficiently.
- Receives training on and begins operating hustler trucks to move containers and chassis in yard.
- Receives training on and begins operating cranes loading and unloading rail, switches, and mounts.
- Trains on and handles issues such as aging equipment, and process containers movement in and out of the gate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Licenses, Certifications, and Credentials
Valid driver’s license; Transportation Worker Identification Credential
Work Experience
No experience required. Some relevant experience is preferred.
