Responsibilities
- Monitor pool areas continuously to ensure guest safety and enforce facility rules effectively
- Respond promptly to emergencies with appropriate first aid and CPR techniques, providing assistance until professional help arrives
- Conduct regular pool maintenance tasks, including cleaning pool decks, skimming debris, and ensuring water quality standards are met
- Perform routine pool cleaning duties such as vacuuming, brushing walls, and maintaining proper chemical levels for optimal water safety
- Assist with guest services by answering questions, providing directions, and ensuring guests feel welcomed and comfortable
- Conduct safety inspections of pool equipment and surrounding areas to identify hazards or maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, safety checks, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Experience
- Previous lifeguard experience preferred; certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid is required (training provided if necessary)
- Demonstrated swimming proficiency with the ability to perform rescue techniques confidently
- Knowledge of pool maintenance procedures including chemical handling and cleaning protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment setup or maintenance tasks
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, or holidays as needed
