 Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support a dynamic, low-volume, high-mix job shop environment on 1st shift. This role combines hands-on machining, Mastercam programming, and process optimization for 2D and 3D Haas CNC machining operations. The position works closely with production, quality and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and production feasibility of complex components. Typical materials include plastics, aluminum, and stainless steel, with expectations to maintain standard machining tolerances specified by print requirements. Additional fabrication and machining capabilities such as cutting, drilling, and milling are required.

Here are some examples of the actual work your day would include.

  • Program, set up, and operate Haas CNC mills (5-axis) using Mastercam for 2D & 3D toolpaths; create, post, and optimize programs for production
  • Review blueprints to interpret GD&T, material specifications, and tolerance requirements; ensure parts meet dimensional standards
  • Develop and document setup instructions; select tooling and optimize speeds/feeds to improve efficiency, tool life, and cost control
  • Perform part inspection using precision measuring tools to validate quality and conformance to specifications
  • Manage machining workflow and support cross-functional teams (production, quality and engineering) with process development and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Inspect machines and finished parts to ensure quality standards are met, while performing routine and preventative maintenance, monitoring machine performance and coolant levels, and maintaining tooling and production data in ERP systems
  • Follow all safety requirements and handle materials and equipment in a safe and compliant manner
  • Fabrication and machining such as cutting, drilling, and milling are required
  • Assembly activities and other duties assigned

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge and skills:

  • 6 years’ experience CNC machining and programming expertise
  • Mastercam programming a must
  • Solid quality control and inspection skills, including the use of precision measurement tools and interpretation of results to ensure part conformance
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on process improvement, efficiency, and minimizing production issues
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to monitor operations and proactively identify and resolve potential quality concerns
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Solid understanding of machine setup, tooling selection, speeds/feeds, and basic machine maintenance

This position requires manual dexterity for working with small components, ability to complete repetitive motions for long periods of time, bending, continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 50 lbs. and managing packages up to 150 lbs. as well as standing/stooping for long periods of time.

We need a candidate that has a positive attitude and the words “can’t” and “impossible” are not a part of your vocabulary. You'll have the ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment to complete established procedures. This person should continually add value to the organization beyond their day-to-day tasks.
