What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide position at The Pointe at Pontiac?
The Dietary Aide is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a loving and safe environment for all of our residents, while helping each of them to achieve their maximum potential. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide customer service in restaurant style dining atmosphere.
- Set table in accordance with company standards
- Greet residents and guests and serve beverages as requested
- Review menu with residents and take meal order
- Serve residents and guests their meal
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils and clean tables as necessary
- Prepare dining for meal service and stock items as necessary
- Adhere to standard food safety practices
- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, floors, condiment containers and equipment
- Properly label, date, and store products
- Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures assuring that tableware is readily available for the next meal
- May perform other duties as needed
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Food Handler certificate as required by state law
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Must have compassion and empathy for seniors and desire to work with seniors.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to read, write and follow written direction in the English language.
- Ability to timely and effectively follow up on all necessary requests from residents and families.
- Maintain and encourage a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner that fosters cooperation.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure.
- Ability to recognize and communicate problems with Executive Director/Food Services Director.
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
