Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage guest seating arrangements efficiently, ensuring optimal table utilization and waitlist management
- Communicate clearly with guests regarding wait times, menu options, and special requests
- Assist servers by bussing tables promptly, clearing dishes, and resetting tables for new guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including wiping down tables and chairs regularly
- Support the host/host team with reservations and guest inquiries via phone or in person using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Monitor dining room for guest needs, responding promptly to requests for assistance or additional service
- Uphold restaurant policies on safety, hygiene, and customer service standards at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods
- Follow proper phone etiquette when handling reservations or guest inquiries over the phone
Skills
- Previous host/host experience or food service background preferred but not required; a passion for hospitality is essential
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Experience with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and guest relations best practices
- Professional phone etiquette for reservation handling and guest inquiries
- Hospitality experience in hotels or similar settings is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
