Responsibilities
Assist licensed electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on construction sites and commercial facilities. Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to support wiring and system layout tasks. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform wiring, conduit bending, and fixture installation. Support the testing of electrical circuits using tools like ohmmeters and multimeters to ensure proper functionality. Help with the installation of low voltage systems such as alarms, communication lines, and security systems. Participate in site safety procedures, including adhering to OSHA standards and understanding NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements for high voltage and low voltage systems. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
Skills
Basic understanding of electrical concepts including low voltage and high voltage systems. Experience with industrial or commercial electrician work is a plus. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and blueprint reading skills. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters. Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes like NEC standards. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while working independently or as part of a team.
