Overview
We are seeking two skilled and experienced Service Journeyman Plumber and one Installer Journeyman Plumber to join our construction and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be personable, great with customers, and possess comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, construction practices, and related mechanical skills. This role involves good communication/ relationship skills, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across various commercial and residential projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require technical expertise and precision.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in new construction and existing structures
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise installations
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to complete tasks efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future issues
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper assembly of plumbing components within building frameworks
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues using schematics and technical documentation
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Assist in training apprentices or less experienced team members as needed
Requirements
- Valid Journeyperson Plumbing license or certification
- Comp Cards preferred
- Proven experience in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance within construction environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge including HVAC systems, carpentry, welding, and general maintenance skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and perform heavy lifting safely
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to installation tasks
- Knowledge of construction practices including assembly and use of schematics for system layout
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse project settings
