Position Summary:
The After-School Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the after-school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for all children. This role includes managing staff, coordinating activities, communicating with families, and maintaining a positive and organized program space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily activities and transitions to ensure safety, structure, and engagement.
- Lead and support after-school staff, including scheduling, delegation, and on-site training.
- Create and implement age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, physical activity, and social development.
- Maintain attendance records, incident reports, and program documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and licensing regulations.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding children’s experiences, behavior, and any concerns.
- Address behavioral or safety issues with calm, proactive, and appropriate strategies.
- Collaborate with the program director on curriculum planning, supplies, and staffing needs.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for children and staff.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a group setting (e.g., camp, school, child care, recreation).
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm, responsible, and organized in a fast-paced environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education or child development preferred.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, afternoon hours (specific hours based on school dismissal and program needs)
Compensation:
Hourly wage based on experience
Expected Start date August 11 to 18th, 2025
