Duties
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary supplies, equipment, and sterile techniques are in place prior to surgery.
- Act as the central coordinator during surgical procedures, facilitating communication between surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub nurses, and other team members.
- Monitor aseptic techniques and maintain sterile environments throughout procedures to prevent infection.
- Assist in patient positioning, documentation, and specimen collection while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage intraoperative equipment setup.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation of surgical procedures, patient assessments, and intraoperative events in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Support post-operative activities including patient transfer, wound care instructions, and discharge planning.
Skills
- Proven experience working in OR settings with strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical protocols.
