Job Summary
Manages the operations and staff of the Pro Shop and assigns responsibility for activities of the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
- Sets and organizes tournament operations.
- Comply at all times with resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments.
- Trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed.
- Coordinate with Sales & Front Desk staff to coordinate tournaments, special requests and banquets.
- Communicates official plans, policies, and procedures to staff in assigned area of responsibility.
- Assures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget; performs cost control activities; monitors revenues and expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control; prepares annual budget requests; assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites work flow; studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
- Performs or assists subordinates in performing duties; adjusts errors and complaints.
- Prepares a variety of studies, reports and related information for decision-making purposes.
- Oversees purchases for resale golf shop items.
- Determines, calculates, and secures the appropriate materials and supplies for a specific project.
- Prepares and maintains daily, monthly and annual reports and records.
- Provides information within scope of knowledge and position.
- Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the Resort.
- Promotes and encourages participation in the game of golf.
- Conducts routine staff meetings.
- Establishes and recommends annual budget for the Golf Department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma with minimum of five years related experience
- Class A PGA membership is highly desirable.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Prior customer service experience preferred
- Prior experience working at a golf course with knowledge of the rules of golf preferred
- Experience working in a hotel, clubhouse, or related field preferred
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing.
- Must submit to and pass a level 2 background screening
Work Environment
- Required to stand/walk/sit regularly and occasionally for prolonged periods of time
- Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
