We are seeking a Water Treatment Operator to support the daily operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility. This role is responsible for monitoring treatment processes, ensuring water quality standards are met, performing routine testing, and maintaining compliance with environmental, quality, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems to ensure efficient and effective plant performance.
- Ensure the quality of wastewater collection and treatment processes meets regulatory and operational standards.
- Collect water samples and perform routine testing, including pH, chlorine, and other treatment parameters.
- Monitor equipment performance and adjust chemical feed rates and treatment processes as needed.
- Document operational data, testing results, and maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Recommend process improvements and technical enhancements to optimize plant operations.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and outside service providers when required.
- Maintain compliance with all quality, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of treatment equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in water or wastewater treatment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of water treatment processes, testing procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to collect samples, perform basic laboratory testing, and maintain accurate records.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Water/Wastewater Operator certification is a plus but not required (depending on local requirements).
