Sr. Refrigeration Specialist – Summary
The Sr. Refrigeration Specialist is responsible for managing commercial refrigeration service, repair, and capital projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures all work orders are completed safely, within scope, on budget, and on schedule while providing technical guidance and real-time support to field technicians and clients. The position requires strong project management skills, refrigeration expertise, customer communication, and the ability to resolve high-priority operational issues in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial refrigeration reactive, preventive, and capital project work orders from inception to completion.
- Monitor project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and overall execution to ensure successful delivery.
- Provide real-time technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field technicians.
- Communicate project status updates to clients, contractors, operations teams, and internal stakeholders through CMMS and direct communication.
- Resolve high-priority client escalations quickly and coordinate with internal/external partners to prevent delays.
- Prepare proposals, project cost estimates, bid packages, timelines, and contract documentation.
- Analyze asset performance and prepare weekly operational and project status reports.
- Ensure service partner performance meets company and client expectations.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused work environment built on communication and teamwork.
- Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday support as needed.
- Travel to customer locations to assess and resolve complex refrigeration issues.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing refrigeration projects in facilities maintenance, property management, or business-to-business service environments.
- Strong experience with low-temperature refrigeration systems required.
Certifications:
- EPA Certification required.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Experience with CMMS platforms preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
