Job Title: SAP Transportation Management (TMS) Consultant

We are seeking an SAP Transportation Management (TMS) Consultant to support enhancements, upgrades, and tactical execution within the SAP TM platform. This role will focus on planning and execution of commodity transport (including inbound supply, molybdenum, copper, and other bulk shipments) across both US domestic and international supply chains.
The ideal candidate will ensure peak efficiency of the TMS system, proactively track shipments, and serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead enhancements and upgrades within SAP TMS, specifically in planning and execution for commodities (inbound supply, copper, molybdenum, bulks, etc.).
- Ensure system supports tactical execution of shipments including dispatch planning and alignment across multiple facilities.
- Provide daily shipment visibility, proactively track truck and rail shipments, and escalate delays or risks to stakeholders.
- Oversee troubleshooting of shipments, track-and-trace activities, and alignment with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as the primary liaison between business teams, technology teams, and external partners to resolve transportation-related issues (EDI/API integrations).
- Ensure system stability, accuracy, and compliance across all transportation modes.
- Deliver timely communication, reporting, and process improvements to strengthen supply chain operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including off-hours support when required.
- Proven hands-on experience with SAP Transportation Management (TMS) in planning, execution, and enhancements.
- Deep understanding of commodity and bulk transportation (e.g., copper, molybdenum, concentrates, acids, inbound supply).
- Strong background in shipment visibility and tracking across multiple modes (rail, truck, international freight).
- Expertise in troubleshooting shipment issues and resolving EDI/API integration problems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to interface with business and technical teams.
- Ability and willingness to provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday support when required.
- Prior experience in natural resources, commodities, or heavy manufacturing industries.
- Strong background with North American supply chain/logistics processes.
- Familiarity with international freight, export compliance, and customs documentation.
