About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Engineer to lead our Transmission Line Group at either our Tampa or Orlando office. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll provide senior-level technical guidance and project oversight for complex high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead transmission line projects. You’ll work closely with engineering and drafting staff while also maintaining quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and drafters in the execution of transmission line projects.
- Serve as a technical expert for all phases of transmission line design, including:
- Line routing and survey coordination
- PLS-CADD modeling
- Structure and foundation design
- Clearance analysis and plan/profile development
- Material specifications and procurement
- Constructability reviews and permitting support
- Vendor/subcontractor coordination
- Construction support and field troubleshooting
- Ensure client requirements are met for quality, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Foster an engaged and collaborative team culture, where input is encouraged and valued.
- Assign and oversee project work across team members to maximize efficiency and performance.
- Review and approve detailed engineering submittals.
- Interface regularly with clients and internal teams (Substation, Environmental, Real Estate, Construction).
- Estimate project scopes, assist in proposal development, and support business growth.
- Maintain safety compliance and promote a safe working environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
- 10 years of transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (required)
- Extensive PLS-CADD experience (required)
- Deep knowledge of applicable design codes and standards, including:
- NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI
- Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines and stakeholders (substation, environmental, real estate, etc.)
- Proven project management capabilities
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment
- Must pass drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record (MVR)
