Role OverviewThe Clinical EMR Trainer works closely with clinical leadership and staff to support the implementation, training, and optimization of the electronic medical record (EMR). This role involves conducting training sessions, maintaining the training environment, and ensuring workflows align with clinical and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have strong Epic training experience and technical build/maintenance expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and coordinate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for clinical staff
- Maintain and optimize the Epic training environment
- Collaborate with IS and clinical teams to facilitate EMR training and adoption
- Develop and maintain training materials and user guides
- Support continuing education and ensure compliance with documentation standards
- Participate in hospital committees related to clinical education and EMR initiatives
- Act as a role model for professional practice and serve as a link between technology and clinical areas
- Participate in Clinical Applications OnCall rotations
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in EMR training or similar role
- Epic certification(s) relevant to training responsibilities (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Epic TED Certification required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Master’s degree in a related field
- 5 years of experience, including clinical experience in Pediatrics
- California RN License
- Epic Principal Trainer certifications in:
- Inpatient Procedure Orders
- Ambulatory
- Willow
- Radiant
- Beaker
- Beacon
- Epic TED Certification (highly preferred)
