We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer II to participate in project teams responsible for designing, purchasing, and installing industrial automation equipment and systems. This role will also support manufacturing facilities with troubleshooting, controls optimization, and process improvement initiatives while contributing to future automation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design and draft controls and automation elements related to capital projects and equipment upgrades
- Develop and modify PLC ladder logic for new and existing equipment
- Perform HMI development and interface design using platforms such as FactoryTalk and Ignition
- Support basic industrial network and computer system design, including Ethernet/IP, virtualization, and gateway systems
- Design control cabinets and assist with power distribution and controls integration
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to source materials, obtain quotations, and manage delivery schedules
- Maintain engineering documentation and drawings
- Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities globally
- Participate in troubleshooting, maintenance support, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all work complies with company safety standards and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 2–7 years of engineering experience in industrial automation or controls environments
- Strong PLC programming experience, preferably with Allen Bradley systems (PLC5, SLC, ControlLogix)
- Experience with SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical
- HMI design experience, preferably with FactoryTalk and Ignition
- Knowledge of Ethernet/IP and industrial networking best practices
- Programming experience with Python and Java
- Understanding of plant power distribution systems and industrial controls
- Project engineering and/or project management experience preferred
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to balance detailed technical execution with broader project objectives
- Competitive salary range: $110,000–$120,000
