Job Title: Commercial Maintenance Technician 

Location: Ephrata, PA

Pay: $28-32/hour 

Work Schedule: M-F (8-4:30pm) 

Start: ASAP 

SUMMARY

Responsible for delivering effective, efficient, and timely services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory. This role is provided a company vehicle and tools and requires travel to various customer sites to maintain commercial properties.

Performs preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and general repair of building systems, equipment, and grounds. Establishes and maintains strong, face-to-face customer relationships by delivering high-quality workmanship and upholding professional standards.

Utilizes a wide range of trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, and other disciplines as needed to resolve maintenance issues.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance & Repair

  • Completes preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with work order requirements, company procedures, regulatory guidelines, and safety standards.
  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance, including repairing and unclogging toilets and urinals; replacing and maintaining valves, fixtures, and automatic flush sensors.
  • Performs routine painting, carpentry, and general maintenance to maintain facilities in like-new condition (e.g., drywall repair, surface preparation, and paint matching).
  • Conducts repairs and maintenance of walls, floors, doors, and other building components to support overall facility appearance.
  • Performs minor electrical work, as permitted by state regulations, including repairing or replacing fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, and sockets.
  • Completes service and asset inspections as required.

Administrative & Technology Use

  • Utilizes mobile technology (tablet/smartphone) to:
    • Access, update, and complete work orders with detailed service notes
    • Create and submit service reports and inspection documentation, including photos
    • Submit timesheets, expense reports, and procurement logs
  • Procures materials and supplies necessary to complete assigned tasks.

Customer Relations

  • Builds and maintains positive client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates consistently and professionally with customers and internal support teams.

Safety & Compliance

  • Completes all required safety and compliance training.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings and adheres to all company and regulatory safety standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provides estimates for larger repair or project work as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
III. QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certifications or training in a skilled trade (e.g., electrical, HVAC, plumbing) or facility maintenance preferred.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of general maintenance experience, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Experience in commercial facility maintenance or services preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing required.
  • Applicable trade licenses or certifications preferred, as required by state or local regulations.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to complete work orders accurately and on time using designated systems.
  • Proficiency with mobile devices and basic software, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Understanding of applicable codes, regulations, and safety practices (OSHA compliance required).
  • Ability to perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally between job sites on a daily basis.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively in individual and small group settings.
