The Total Player Center (TPC) • Livermore, CA
Part-Time • Approximately 12–20 hours per week
Position Overview
The Strength & Athletic Performance Trainer at The Total Player Center (TPC) is responsible for
delivering high-quality, athlete-centered strength and conditioning services to baseball and softball
players ranging from youth through collegiate levels. This role focuses on improving strength,
power, movement quality, durability, and readiness to support on-field performance.
This is not a general fitness role. Coaches are expected to operate in a structured,
performance-driven environment that values preparation, coaching intent, athlete accountability,
and long-term development.
Training, Coaching & Private Sessions
• Lead small-group and semi-private strength training sessions
• Deliver private strength and athletic performance training sessions
• Coach foundational lifts, Olympic lift derivatives, plyometrics, sprint mechanics, and movement
preparation
• Individualize cues and progressions within group and private settings
• Monitor athlete readiness, effort, and movement quality at all times
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional training environment
Strength & Athletic Assessments
• Administer Standard and Master-Level Strength & Athletic Assessments
• Conduct movement screens, strength testing, power output assessments, and readiness
evaluations
• Accurately document assessment data and coach observations
• Communicate findings and recommendations to the Director of Athletic Performance
• Support athlete onboarding by translating assessment data into actionable training priorities
Program Execution & Athlete Management
• Execute assigned training programs using BridgeAthletic
• Track attendance, session completion, and athlete notes
• Communicate workload concerns, progress updates, or injury risk indicators to leadership
• Support modified training or return-to-play protocols when required
Facility & Professional Standards
• Uphold TPC standards for punctuality, professionalism, and athlete conduct
• Ensure proper equipment use and organization
• Maintain cleanliness of the strength training floor
• Represent TPC with a coach-first, athlete-centered mindset
Qualifications
• Background in strength and conditioning, kinesiology, exercise science, or related field (degree or
in progress)
• Experience coaching youth, high school, or collegiate athletes
• Strong understanding of strength training principles and movement mechanics• Ability to manage multiple athletes while maintaining coaching quality
• High level of professionalism, reliability, and communication
