Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Stamford, CT 06905
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Your Role as a Special Education Teacher
  • Design and Deliver Individualized Instruction - Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student's academic strengths, learning style, and social-emotional goals.
  • Support Emotional Growth and Regulation - Use the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model to identify lagging skills, teach coping strategies, and help students navigate challenges with empathy.
  • Foster Social and Executive Functioning Skills - Integrate skill-building into daily routines to enhance communication, problem-solving, and organization.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines - Partner with school counselors, related service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support for every student.
  • Maintain a Safe and Supportive Classroom - Create a structured, predictable environment that promotes trust, curiosity, and resilience.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Connecticut certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching elementary students with learning or social-emotional differences.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions.
