Position Summary

The Lower School is launching a bold new STEM Experience, two separate weekend days designed to ignite curiosity and celebrate creativity through hands-on, minds-on exploration. This initiative is made possible through the generosity of Mrs. Nancy Leone in honor of her late husband Dr. Joseph Leone, whose interest and commitment to supporting students’ curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning through STEM.

We’re seeking a Lower School STEM Experience Project Lead to bring this vision to life: a dynamic educator who can dream big, plan thoughtfully, and rally a team to create an unforgettable experience for students and families. Candidates need not be Lower School teachers.

This new initiative will give students the chance to design, build, and explore across disciplines: engineering, art, coding, robotics, electronics, AI, and more. Whether it’s a Stanford D-School design sprint, an Engineering is Elementary challenge, a Rube Goldberg build, a 3D Art design studio, or a Lego League Team kick off, this is a space where anything is possible and curiosity leads the way.

The program will invite children and parents to collaborate as creators and problem-solvers, showcasing how innovation thrives when imagination and learning collide.

This is a leadership opportunity to shape a new tradition of creativity and innovation at the Lower School.

As the LS STEM Experience Project Lead, you will:

  • Envision and Design the overall experience, defining themes, schedules, and the flow of two one-day programs.
  • Build a Team, recruit colleagues, collaborators, and even external organizations who share your enthusiasm for STEM learning and creativity to assist in executing on this project.
  • Curate Engaging Experiences, design or select activities that inspire exploration and discovery, from design thinking challenges to tech-based experiments.
  • Lead Project Management, coordinate logistics, materials, communications, and facilities in partnership with our school teams.
  • Foster Community Connection, invite family participation, and create an inclusive, exciting environment where learning is shared.

Who You Are:

  • An imaginative educator who sees STEM possibilities everywhere and enjoys bringing creative ideas to life.
  • A collaborative leader who thrives on building connections and teams.
  • A strategic planner who can manage details while keeping the big picture in focus.
  • Passionate about innovation, design thinking, and inspiring others, both students and colleagues, to experiment, reflect, and grow.

Details:

  • Commitment: Planning during the coming months to launch two one-day weekend events during the school year.
  • Stipend: $10,000

Qualified candidates are invited to apply online at https://www.pingry.org/careers.
