Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Customer Service/Retail Associate to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting with product selection, and ensuring an excellent shopping experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales skills, gain retail experience, and contribute to a welcoming store atmosphere. Available for weekend and evening shifts with a flexible schedule. Driver's license and car preferred.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service
- Operate POS systems for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Assist customers with product description and answer questions about merchandise
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stock replenishment
- Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
- Engage in retail sales activities to meet or exceed sales goals
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or customer calls
- Support supervising staff during busy periods or special events as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and basic retail math is advantageous
- Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Prior supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities
- Ability to perform product demos and upselling techniques effectively
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and retail operations will help ensure success in this role
