Family owned and operated for over 75 years, Pictsweet is a frozen vegetable producer with agricultural roots. We are recruiting Quality Assurance Technicians at Pictsweet's Clarksville, AR facility.
The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for established raw material, packaging in-process, microbiological and finished product testing audits during an assigned shift. This role will coordinate with other staff and supervisors to ensure production meets budget, scheduling, and quality standards. This is a safety sensitive position. This role ensures all safety systems are in place for the production of quality food products manufactured under clean and safe conditions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure and monitor all quality and food safety systems are in place for the production of quality products manufactured under clean and safe conditions.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulations relating to food and personnel safety such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, HARPC, DOT, GMPs, Housekeeping, Allergen Segregation, etc.
- Conducts established raw material, packaging, in-process, microbiological and finished product testing/audits.
- Performs sanitation, GMP, Pre-operational inspections/audits.
- Know and observe safety, security, quality, sanitation and personal hygiene requirements and lead by example on the processing floor.
- Sensory evaluations of samples at all levels of production.
- Perform Critical Control Point monitoring functions.
- Assist during certification audits.
- Assist QA Senior Management.
- Follows all Company policies and procedures and ensures a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Experience a plus, but not required.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of alertness and concentration while performing safety-sensitive task.
- Available to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingual skills helpful but not required.
- Basic mathematical computations including fractions/decimals.
- Read and comprehend process, procedures, instructions, and standards.
- Functional knowledge to apply corrective actions, quality and food safety procedures correctly in times of failure.
- Perform duties with a high level of accuracy and detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence, motivate, and lead within a team environment.
- Must be able to endure prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, walking on hard surfaces, reaching, and lifting.
- Requires repetitive motion with arms and hands.
- Must have ability to work in outdoor weather conditions, non-climate controlled areas, and/or a refrigerated packaging environment.
