Athletic Trainer – Clinic + Sports Medicine

The Physical Therapy Project, LLC
Salem, OR Full Time | Part Time
POSTED ON 8/13/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/10/2026

Most Athletic Training jobs ask you to choose.

You can work in a clinic...
or on the sidelines.

You can build relationships with patients...
or work with athletes.

You can evaluate injuries...
or help people recover from them.

At The Physical Therapy Project, we don't think you should have to choose. We're building something different.

As part of our growing sports medicine team, you'll have the opportunity to work both in our clinic and in the community—providing athletic training coverage for Salem Academy Christian High School, Capitol Fútbol Club, Marion Berries Baseball, Salem Capitals Basketball, and other community sports organizations while also developing your own clinical caseload. You'll be there when an athlete gets injured. And you'll be there when they're ready to return to doing what they love.

Who We Are

The Physical Therapy Project is an independently owned, out-of-network, cash-pay clinic located in downtown Salem, Oregon.

Our clinic was built around a simple belief:

Healthcare works better when clinicians have the time, freedom, and support to provide exceptional care. Instead of rushing from patient to patient, we prioritize quality over quantity, relationships over volume, and individualized care over insurance requirements.

Our clinic feels more like a training facility than a traditional medical office, serving active adults, youth athletes, endurance athletes, and people who simply want to move and feel better.

As we continue to grow, we're expanding beyond the walls of our clinic by building partnerships throughout our community. Our Athletic Trainer will provide sideline sports medicine services for a variety of teams, creating a unique opportunity to care for athletes both on the field and in the clinic.

What Makes This Position Different?

This is not an aide or an assistant position. You'll practice as an independent Athletic Trainer, working within your scope of practice while collaborating closely with our team of Physical Therapists.

Your week will include a mix of:

  • Sideline athletic training coverage for our community partners
  • Independent injury evaluations and treatment
  • Developing and progressing rehabilitation programs
  • Return-to-sport planning
  • Injury prevention and performance education
  • One-on-one client care in the clinic
  • Small group performance training
  • Building relationships with coaches, athletes, parents, and community partners

Who We're Looking For

Someone who is:

  • Passionate about sports medicine and helping people stay active
  • Excited to work both in a clinic and on the sidelines
  • Confident, personable, and eager to build relationships
  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • A collaborative teammate who enjoys learning and growing
  • Excited to help shape something new

Whether you're an experienced Athletic Trainer or a new graduate ready to start your career, we'd love to hear from you.
