As a Physical Therapy Aide, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical therapy team and ensuring the smooth operation of therapy sessions. - Assist physical therapists in providing patient care and treatment
- Set up equipment and prepare treatment areas for therapy sessions
- Escort patients to and from treatment areas
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist
- Clean and maintain equipment and treatment areas
- Perform administrative tasks such as:
- Scheduling patients
- Taking copays
- Assisting with key metric spreadsheets
- Filing and scanning
Hours would be flexible weekly. They would include some evenings until 7pm. No weekends.
Please note that this is not a licensed position and does not involve providing direct therapy services.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
- Experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction
- A person who has an interest in pursuing a career in Physical Therapy or a related healthcare profession
- A person who demonstrates the physical and mental capabilities (practical &/or written, post training competency test) to perform the duties required of the position
- A person who can meet the physical demand level of the position
EXPERIENCE:
- None required, but previous experience with medical insurance or physical therapy is helpful.
- Familiarity and comfort with technology
PHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY:
Consistent with Industry PDC’s or minimally:
- Requires the manual dexterity and general strength and endurance
- Lifting---routinely loads of 5-35 pounds from
- Floor to waist
- Waist to shoulder
- Shoulder to overhead
- Carrying—routinely loads of 5-10# for 40-50’
- Pushing---routinely loads of 5-150# on casters, runners or pulleys
- Sustaining a grip---routinely for 1-2 minutes of 40-50#
- Guarding a “lift load” routinely of 120-140#
