Job Summary
The Phoenix Recovery Support Services is seeking full-time male Peer Support Specialists to support our clients with their substance use recovery needs. The peer support specialist will use their lived experience to support, empower and assist clients to become independent and take ownership of their recovery process. Peer supporters assess and help clients identify challenges to their recovery and supports clients to overcome those challenges. Peer supporters serve as a positive recovery example, connecting peers to resources and fosters all of this through a client centered approach, by building and maintaining a healthy relationship with peers. The Peer Support Specialist will follow and maintain ethical standards and implement and follow professional boundaries with clients.

Duties
- Supporting the client in their Return to active Use prevention plan
- Developing Biopsychosocial goals with the client and creating a plan for attainment of each goal.
- Support individuals in treatment engagement
- Share personal recovery experience appropriately to instill hope and demonstrate common understanding
- Use person-centered, relationship-based approaches to engage with diverse populations and believe that everyone deserves a chance at recovery
- Complete documentation in timely manner and according to agency policies and procedures
- Adherence to professional, ethical, and organizational standards of practice.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to client confidentiality in compliance with 42 CFR and HIPAA regulations.
- Provide outreach and active engagement in person and in the community
- Collaborate with other staff as needed
- Complete the required CEU’s for Peer support certification renewal
- All other duties assigned
Qualifications
- Person with lived experience in recovery
- 1 year of continuous sobriety from all mood-altering substances
- Certified as a Peer Support Specialist/Peer Recovery Supporter for substance use
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance
- This is a Male only position
Pay: $17.50 per hour
