Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking a Patent Specialist to join their team in Irvine, CA!
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications, office action responses, and other relevant documents.
- Collaborate with the docketing team to manage and update patent dockets, ensuring all deadlines for filings and responses are met.
- Prepare and submit PCT and international patent applications.
- Coordinate and maintain communication with clients, patent offices, and foreign associates.
- Draft legal documents such as assignments, declarations, and priority documents.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical patent files.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the patent team as needed.
- Stay informed on developments in patent law and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a patent-focused role, such as a patent specialist, legal secretary, or similar position.
- In-depth understanding of patent prosecution processes and procedures.
- Experience with docketing systems and familiarity with managing large or guideline-driven client accounts is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and patent-related software tools.
