Patent Specialist

Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking a Patent Specialist to join their team in Irvine, CA!

Key Responsibilities:

• Support attorneys in all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications, office action responses, and other relevant documents.
• Collaborate with the docketing team to manage and update patent dockets, ensuring all deadlines for filings and responses are met.
• Prepare and submit PCT and international patent applications.
• Coordinate and maintain communication with clients, patent offices, and foreign associates.
• Draft legal documents such as assignments, declarations, and priority documents.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical patent files.
• Provide general administrative assistance to the patent team as needed.
• Stay informed on developments in patent law and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a patent-focused role, such as a patent specialist, legal secretary, or similar position.
• In-depth understanding of patent prosecution processes and procedures.
• Experience with docketing systems and familiarity with managing large or guideline-driven client accounts is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and patent-related software tools.
