Role Overview
This role offers the chance to lead the administration, troubleshooting, and enhancement of the organization’s financial systems, with a focus on supporting critical systems such as legal and financial platforms, including EDRM, billing, and data integrations. The position involves working closely with Finance, IT, and Operations teams to ensure seamless system performance, optimize workflows, and support ongoing system upgrades and new implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical expert for the firm’s financial systems, including legal billing platforms, general ledger, accounts payable, and related modules
- Support and maintain core financial systems such as law practice management software, electronic billing, matter management, and financial reporting tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with billing, pre-bills, time entry, matter management, and data imports
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for reporting and data analysis
- Configure and manage electronic payment files, document templates, and data imports using tools like Generic Importer and custom scripting
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, IT, and Security teams to implement system enhancements, workflows, and integrations between core financial applications and third-party systems
- Support system upgrades, deployment, testing, and ongoing maintenance activities, including documentation and user support
- Participate in after-hours support and troubleshoot high-priority production issues as needed
Core Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of technical support and administration experience with enterprise financial systems in a professional services or legal environment
- Proven track record supporting legal or professional services billing, general ledger, and accounts payable modules
- Advanced SQL skills, including writing stored procedures, query optimization, and troubleshooting database issues
- Experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting electronic import/export files, data integrations, and workflow automation tools such as Generic Importer and DocuDraft
- Ability to independently diagnose complex technical and data-driven problems in a production environment
- Strong communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with Finance and IT teams
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with API integrations and scripting with PowerShell
- Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure components: Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS
- Cloud hosting and deployment experience, especially in hybrid environments
- Familiarity with system migration projects, design studio, or form customization tools
- Experience supporting iTimekeep or other time management systems in a legal or professional services setting
- Agile or Scrum methodology experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
