What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reporter, Now position at The Philadelphia Inquirer, LLC?
The Philadelphia Inquirer is looking for a dynamic journalist with excellent news judgment to become a reporter on the Now team. This journalist will be a general assignment reporter who primarily works on breaking news. This journalist needs to be flexible and fast, reporting on what the city and the region is talking about and jumping into all big news events and thinking about how these stories can be told in unique ways on our digital platforms, including liveblogs, explainers and ways to leverage products that make understanding the news easier for our audience.
What You’ll Do
- Identify trending stories
- Incorporate analytics in daily work to inform decision making
- Explore unique ways to tell often-told stories
- Identify coverage opportunities to keep Inquirer.com dynamic 24/7
- Report on breaking news across various beats, collaborating with other reporters across the newsroom and looking out for the second day story on the first day
- Identify what Philadelphians are talking across social media platforms and bring those conversations to our readers
- Contribute to live coverage during breaking news events and help pioneer new ways to bring of-the-moment coverage to our readers.
- Contribute to an inclusive and positive work environment
