Role
Third Class Power Plant Engineers play a vital role here on campus. In this position you will perform Central Heating Plant shift operations, under the functional supervision of the Lead Operator, including startup and shutdown of equipment assuring that electrical and steam generation is maintained in a safe and reliable manner. You will also have the opportunity to:
- Perform basic electrical and mechanical inspections, trouble-shoot, conduct epairs and maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Perform routine chemical testing.
- Read and record gauges and meters.
- Open and closes valves and adjust controls to regulate flows of operating fluids.
- Be responsible for the safe receiving, handling, and storage of ammonia, water treatment chemicals, and fuel oil.
